Welcome to Room 212!!

McInerney says:

We will be working hard this year to meet all of our IEP goals and more. It is my goal to provide all of my students with a nurturing safe environment where all feel safe to risk failure and celebrate success.

Since fourth and fifth grades are so important to building independent learners, I would like to prepare my students to trust in themselves and persevere when things are difficult. I know all of my students will be lifelong learners.

Goudy Elementary:

Our campus includes state-of-the-art technology in all classrooms, age-appropriate play areas for children in kindergarten and through the upper grades. Our experienced, skilled teaching staff works together as a team to guide your child through his or her academic journey.

You can get all A's and still flunk at life.
~  Walker Percy  ~

Your child will have the opportunity to pursue a range of extracurricular activities to complement his or her rigorous academic curriculum. Our student-to-teacher ratio ensures that your child gets the attention he or she deserves.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you
can use to change the world.

How Parents Can Help

  1.  Make Sure that your child is getting exercise, a nutritious diet and plenty of sleep. Students that are tired and hungry have a difficult time staying focused.
  2. Make sure that you visit the library and have books available  in your home. Make time for everyone in the house to read. Children love to be read to and let them see you read too!
  3. Make sure that your child gets regular checkups. It is also important to get their vision and hearing tested regularly too. Studnets with chronic condiitons can have difficulty in school.
  4. Have your child do extra work at home. Maybe you can research a topic that interests your family, maybe a place to go on a vacation or what is the best pet.
  5. Tell your child stories about when you were in school. Let them know why you value education. Tell them how they can learn from your experiences. Create a positive attitude toward school.
  6. If you are upset with a teacher, don't vent to your child. Make an appointment to meet and discuss the issue. We are a team and your child needs to know that we respect each other.
